Chronic widespread pain is the hallmark of central sensitisation, the disorder underlying many chronic pain disorders and fibromyalgia. It is commonly associated with significant sleep disturbance, fatigue, irritable bowel syndrome, sensory sensitivity, cognitive clouding and other pain disorders like dysmenorrhea, headache, TMJ disfunction and interstitial cystitis.
