Dr Rhea Liang
Rhea Liang is a mum to a teenager and a pre-teen, and a general and breast surgeon on the Gold Coast (the family does come first!) She is a surgical educator and diversity advocate and chairs the Operating With Respect Education committee for RACS. Her Masters thesis, on the reasons why women leave surgical training, was published in the Lancet and she has therefore been tempted into a mid-career detour to complete a PhD examining intersectionality in the development of the surgical professional identity. Being a parent is a dimension of intersectionality! She tweets at @LiangRhea.
